Mod Harley Class

The pastel Hot Rod paint and the molded tins really grab your attention when you first look at Cory Edwards’ Sudden Impact. The lines on this ’85  FXR are smooth and clean. The Gilliland Customs’ build features handmade sheet metal, Jims Flywheel, Screamin Eagle heads and Edlebrock dual carbs.

FreeStyle Class

Jon Shipley brought Whiskey Bent, a 2011 Hossier Daddy Custom Bobber, to the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show in Cleveland, OH and took 1^st place in the FreeStyle class. The ’77 Ironhead 1000cc mil is bored  and features a Bar Stool seat and 102 year old brass headlight. Rumor has it that it still pours whiskey.

FreeStyle – GIO of Blacksmith Motoring Co. rolled into DC with El Patron, a 2003 Suzuki Volusia and took first place in FreeStyle. GIO is our first two class winner in the 2011 – 2012 Ultimate Builder series with a win with El Vaquero, a 1977 blown Honda GL1000 Goldwing. The power cruiser features Nitrous, Stroker Kit, Big Bore Pistons, Custom Cams, 4 Degree Rake, Remote Air Ride and Performance Suspension shocks. GIO’s background is in jewelry and it shows from the jewel encrusted key to the chrome etching on the heads, bars and lights. Blacksmith Motoring Co. hails from Chicago and is making the mid-west tour with the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show.

Mod Harley - Roy Chamberlain of C&C Cycles built a striking flame and skull bike called Black Shadow that took 1st in the Modified Harley Class. The 2002 Harley-Davidson FLHTCUI features a S&S 106ci with ported heads, bigger valves, cam and throttle body. Additional upgrades include a 200mm rear tire with stretched bags and fender.

The Bagger is ultra-smooth with front turn signals under lexan, which are fitted in the fairing and come to life and are only seen once they are actuated. The side mirrors are replaced with a flat panel screen and an automotive rear camera fitted into the eye of a skull. The license plate is tucked under the rear fender and swings out when the big twin rumbles to life.

Performance Custom – James Antonio of Meticulous Concepts Sportbike Customizing takes first place in the Performance Custom class with his 2003 Kawasaki ZX9R. The reaper-styled bike is bored to 998cc and sports 240mm Rear Tire, Lowered chassis with air ride. Special features include 24k gold plated bolts and custom bodywork. Wheels are modified Harley units from Performance Machine.

Retro Mod – Gio of Blacksmith Motoring Company brought El Vaquero to the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show in DC and took first place in Retro Mod. El Vaquero is a 1977 Honda GL1000 Goldwing that sports a super charged stroker motor, 4 Degree Rake, Remote Air Ride and Performance Suspension shocks. Additional features include engraved accessories, custom trucker-flap exhaust and hidden cables.

FREESTYLE – Gary Lipton said use your imagination… and Steve Broyles from Stevenson’s Cycle built the GL Special based on a number of ideas that he had in the back of his mind. The primary inspiration was his Schwinn Flyer that he rode over god’s creation as a kid. You can see that reflected in the wide handlebars. The heart of the matter is a S&S 93ci mil with fully polished split rocker boxes and cooling fins. The fins required 3 months of work to complete. Broyles used his signature glass side oil tank that is built like a wedge, brass foot and hand controls. The frame is a custom fabricated rigid bobber unit. The GL Special also sports an Evil LSD Belt Drive. As you walk up to the bike, the paint grabs your attention. It was sprayed by Darren Williams of Liquid Illusion Art.

Modified Harley Winner

MOD Harley – After High School Kirk Schubert’s sister received a 4 year college degree and after he graduated he received the keys to a Harley Fat Boy. Through the years the 1997 Fat Boy has gone through a number of iterations and has metamorphosed to its final design called the Shoobdville Bagger. It sports an 88ci mil with hand shift, ape hangers, lakester pipe and a sweet paint job by Ronnie Harris of Chop Doc Choppers. Ronnie also performed the fabrication work. The cherry on top is the brass shifter from the executive offices of the now defunct Cadillac Hotel.

PERFORMANCE CUSTOM – Jack McCoy of M43 Powersports rolled in his 2008 B-King beast named Inferno. The first thing you notice on the bike is the true flames paint job. It is expertly applied by Centerfold Customs. The front 21” wheel on ultra-low profile tire combined with the 300mm rear delivers an aggressive stance. Hanging off either side of the front end are two huge turbos that deliver a gut-checking 550HP. Additional enhancements includes custom engine parts and an industrial-strength single swingarm.

RETRO MOD – Steve Hollon of Gogatha Cycles delivered General Grunge to the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show and he came away with a win in the Retro Mod class. The 1987 Sportster features items from your typical build, drop seat, canteen, infantry helmet, dual grenades and camouflage paint. Cliff Weller of Centerfold Customs provided the paint.

Builders of choppers, cruisers and sportbikes are invited to enter their bikes into the competition and judge each other’s work. There will be 11 individual rounds of the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show nationwide and a National Championship in Daytona. 11 City Custom Bike Tour

$90,000 in Cash Awards
At the end of the 12 city tour the Ultimate Builder will award of $90,000 in awards and expose builders to over 600,000 motorcycle enthusiasts who attend our motorcycle shows. No other competition will offer this much exposure to custom bike builders or a chance to become the definitive American Champion of custom bike building.

The granddaddy of all bike shows, the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building, is affiliated with the IMS Ultimate Custom Bike Competitions. Winners of the UBCBS Series receive a fee-free entry into the 9th annual World Championship at Sturgis 2012, which sweetens the pot further.

Classes
The Ultimate Builder contains 4 classes including FreeStyle, Modified Harley, Retro Mod and Performance Custom. All makes, models, designs and manufacturers are welcomed to participate.

Promotion
We have designed the show to allow you to promote your business by standing by your bike and interacting with the custom bike enthusiasts. Each show garners a minimum of 50,000 attendees.
