FOLLOWING the success of its association with the World Championship program last year, when Swiss Harley Days hosted Harley’s European H.O.G. Rally, Harley-Davidson Switzerland has confirmed that this year’s event at Campione d’Italia / Lugano, Switzerland, will be a Modified Harley-Davidson World Championship affiliate event.
With the Campione d’Italia / Lugano Modified Harley Class winner receiving prize money to be able to compete at the world Championships at Sturgis courtesy of Harley-Davidson Switzerland, the affiliation represents another opportunity for a European authorized Harley dealer or private customizer to ‘mix-it’ with America’s best and try to follow the trail blazed by current Modified Harley-Davidson World Champions Shaw H-D from the UK.
Commenting on the affiliation Michael Pedratscher, Harley Switzerland’s Marketing, Event and HOG Manager said: “We are the market leader here in Switzerland, and we see affiliation with the World Championship program as a great way of reinforcing the factory platform customization message that we and our dealers are finding to be so popular with our buyers, and of recognizing and showcasing outstanding examples of what can be achieved.”
Last year the win was taken by Danny Schneider of Hardnine Choppers in Switzerland, who went on to scoop third place in the Modified Harley Class at the World Championships in Sturgis.
